Prof. Zhongsheng Hou

Zhongsheng Hou (IEEE Fellow, 2020) received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from the Jilin University of Technology, Jilin, China, in 1983 and 1988, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from Northeastern University, Shenyang, China, in 1994. From 1995 to 1997, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin, China. From 2002 to 2003, he was a visiting scholar with Yale University, CT, USA. From 1997 to 2018, he was with Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing, China, where he was a Distinguished Professor and the Founding Director of the Advanced Control Systems Laboratory, and the Head of the Department of Automatic Control. He is currently a Chair Professor and head of the Academy of Sciences Science and Control, Qingdao University, China.

Prof. Chun-Yi Su

Chun-Yi Su (Senior Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in control engineering from the South China University of Technology, Guangdong, China, in 1990.,After a seven-year stint with the University of Victoria, Victoria, BC, Canada, he joined Concordia University, Montreal, QC, Canada, in 1998, where he is currently a Professor of mechanical and industrial engineering and holds the Concordia University Research Chair in Control. He has also held several short-time visiting positions, including the Chang Jiang Chair Professorship by China’s Ministry of Education and JSPS Invitation Fellowship from Japan. He has authored or coauthored over 300 publications, which have appeared in journals, as book chapters and in conference proceedings. His research covers control theory and its applications to various mechanical systems, with a recent focus on control of systems involving hysteresis nonlinearities.,Prof. Su has served as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control and the IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology. He has been on the editorial board of 18 journals, including IFAC’s Mechatronics. He has also been an organizing committee member many conferences.(Based on document published on 13 May 2020).

Assoc. Prof. Qi Zhang

Tongji University, China

Zhang Qi, Associate Professor of Computer Science and Technology College of Tongji University, has obtained the doctorate of computer science and technology engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology and the doctorate of analytical philosophy from Sydney University of Science and Technology. He was selected into the National Overseas High-level Young Talents Program, Shanghai Magnolia Overseas High-level Young Talents Program, Shanghai Pujiang Talent Program, presided over the National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Science Fund Project 1, participated in the key research and development of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and participated in a number of National Natural Science Foundation projects. The main research direction is multimodal information processing, including brain visual codec, time series analysis, multimodal model compression, etc. More than 60 papers have been published in top international journals and conferences in the field of artificial intelligence and data science, including TKDE, TOIS, TNNLS, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, AAAI, IJCAI, WWW, ACM MM, KDD, etc.

Lounis Adouane (Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in automatic control from the FEMTO-ST Laboratory, ENSMM, France, in 2005, and the H.D.R. (habilitation to steer research in robotics) degree from Blaise Pascal University, in 2015. During his Ph.D. studies, he deeply investigated the field of mobile multi robot systems, especially those related to bottom-up and decentralized control architectures. In 2005, he joined the Ampere Laboratory, INSA Lyon, and he studied hybrid (continuous/discrete) control architectures applied to cooperative mobile robots arms. From 2006 to 2019, he was an Associate Professor with the Institut Pascal, Polytech Clermont-Ferrand. He is currently a Full Professor with the Heudiasyc, UMR 7253 CNRS/Universite de Technologie de Compiegne. From 2018 to 2019, he was the Head of ISPR Group (Images, Perception Systems and Robotics, 80 members), Institut Pascal. Since 2018, he is a member of the Technical Committee of IFAC–Intelligent Autonomous Vehicles and serves in the Editorial Board Member of Journal of Intelligent and Robotic Systems. He had the opportunity to visit during few months several institutions/laboratories, such as in 2009 LIST (Luxembourg), in 2014 Cranfield and Kingston universities (U.K), and in 2018 KIT (Germany). He is the author/coauthor of more than 100 refereed international articles and two books. His main research interests include planning and control of mobile robots/intelligent vehicles (autonomous and clean), decision-making under uncertainty, hybrid (continuous/discrete) and hybrid (reactive/cognitive) multi controller architectures, Lyapunov-based synthesis and stability, cooperative multi robot systems, artificial intelligence (e.g., MDP or MAS approaches), and energy management (e.g., optimal control or neuro-fuzzy approaches).

Assoc. Prof. Aslina Baharum

Sunway University, Malaysia

Ts. Dr Aslina Baharum is an Associate Professor and UX Researcher at the School of Engineering and Technology, Sunway University. Previously, she was a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), and Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). She also has industry experiences where she worked as an IT Officer for the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM). She had experienced more than 20 years in the IT field.

She received a PhD in Visual Informatics (UKM), a Master Science degree in IT (UiTM) and graduated Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in E-Commerce from UMS. She is a member of the Young Scientists Network - Academy of Science Malaysia, Senior Member IEEE, and certified Professional Technologist from MBOT, and served as MBOT/MQA auditor.  

She won several medals in research and innovation showcases and was awarded several publication awards, teaching awards, Excellence Service award, and UMS Researchers Awards. She has co-authored and editor books, published several books of chapters (>20), technical papers in conferences and peer-reviewed and indexed journals (>60) papers. She also served as editor for several journals, scholarly contributed as a committee, editorial team and reviewers, and given several invited/ plenary talks at conferences.  

Her research interests include UX/UI, HCI/Interaction Design, Product & Service Design, Software Engineering & Mobile Development, Information Visualization & Analytics, Multimedia, ICT, IS and Entre/Technopreneurship. Her workshops and talks covered Entrepreneurship, Video/Image Editing, E-Commerce/Digital Marketing, AR/VR/MR/XR in STEM, Design Thinking and etc.
